Why This Site Exists
Indiana public-record access, including records available under the Access to Public Records Act, IC 5-14-3, does not make every custody question simple. Vanderburgh County jail records are maintained by the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office, while sentenced state prisoners move into the Indiana Department of Correction system. Federal sentenced prisoners use the Bureau of Prisons locator, and immigration custody is checked through ICE. This site organizes those roster, locator, facility, visitation, contact, and request paths without replacing the agencies that maintain the records.

What We Cannot Do
Vanderburgh County Inmate Population is privately run. It is not part of the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office, Vanderburgh County Jail, Community Corrections, Indiana DOC, any court, or any other government agency.
- We cannot release, hold, transfer, or move a person in custody.
- We cannot post bond, schedule a visit, add money, or send commissary funds for someone else.
- We cannot give legal advice or tell someone how a charge should be handled.
- We cannot guarantee that a listed phone number, address, fee, search result, or agency page has not changed.
Current custody status, charges, bond, release, and case details must be confirmed with the official office that created or maintains the record.
Search Partners
Some search boxes or research tools may be supplied by third-party providers. Those providers may set their own prices, account rules, search limits, and result displays. If a visitor follows a partner tool to a paid signup, Vanderburgh County Inmate Population may receive a referral fee. That support helps keep the site available, but it does not give this site control over partner pricing, records, rankings, or search results.
